1. Pour over ice

Unlocking the power of apple cider vinegar

It starts with picking the right apples.

This crisp and fruity ACV is made using a combination of culinary and bittersweet apples and champagne yeast as well as a unique vinegar culture that dates back to the 1970s.
Apple cider vinegar contains acetic acid* which is known for being great for the gut by increasing the amount of time the gastric juices stay in the stomach. Because of this the body can break down food more effectively and deliver nutrients quicker.

There are two levels of fermentation when it comes to making apple cider vinegar: alcoholic and acetic. First the alcoholic fermentation helps turn apple juice into cider. The second is acetic fermentation, a process where the acetobacter* feeds on the alcohol, transforming it naturally to 0%. The end result is vinegar.
The two fermentation processes take 2 months and it's here where all the flavour builds week on week. Each batch is taste-tested weekly before deciding when the flavour is just right.

Clementine Coast

Our juicy take on the Picante

INGREDIENTS:

50ml Mother Root Ginger 
50ml lime juice 
A couple of sliced jalapenos 
15ml jalapeno brine 
Juice of 1 clementine 
Tajin and chilli to garnish

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Shake the bottle 8 times
  2. To a shaker add ice, Mother Root, lime juice, jalapenos and brine, and juice from the clementine and shake.
  3. Wipe around the edge of a glass with a lime wedge and then dip the glass in Tajin.
  4. Add ice to your glass and strain into the glass, garnishing with the chilli.

Clouds & Honey

Whisk up a Mother Root sour

INGREDIENTS:

50ml Mother Root Ginger
20ml fresh lemon juice
15ml 2:1 honey syrup 
Half an egg white

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Shake the bottle 8 times
  2. Add all the ingredients to a large jar or cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Add some ice and shake again. 
  3. Fill a glass with plenty of ice. Strain the cocktail through a sieve into the glass.
  4. Garnish with a sprig of thyme.

Morning Ritual

INGREDIENTS:

25ml Mother Root Ginger
Hot water 
A squeeze of hot honey (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Shake the bottle 8 times
  2. Add hot water to your favourite mug lined with Mother Root.
  3. Squeeze a little hot honey for some extra fire and sweetness (great to stave off a cold!).
